Bruce Eldon Rein went home to his Savior on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the age of 84. He was born on March 22, 1932, in Longview, Washington, to Albert and Lucille Rein.
Bruce attended Multnomah College and worked for the telephone company for 37 years, retiring in 1991, as an electrical technician, and was an avid ham radio operator most of his life.
Bruce married the love of his life, Heather "Pat" Ford in 1955. Three children were born to them: Jeff of Lakeport, California, Donna Marie (who passed away at birth in 1960), and Bob (who passed away in 2014).
He was a member of North Roseburg Evangelical Free Church and active for many years with the ministry of Lutheran Brotherhood. He was a man who loved and served God with a generous and compassionate heart. He put his trust in Jesus as Lord, walked with Him as a friend, looked up to Him as a Father, and confided in Him as a brother. He cherished his wife and sons, deeply loved his family, and was committed to his many friends. We know he arrived at the throne of grace and heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
He is survived by Pat, his loving wife of 63 years, of Roseburg, son Jeff and daughter-in-law Debbie of Lakeport, California, and daughter-in-law Sallie Rein of Roseburg, and by his four grandchildren: Haley, Erin, Alex and Nick. Bruce is also survived by his beloved niece Tracy Ward, her husband Rocky, and their daughters Mikayla and Kalista of Lebanon, Oregon, and his brothers Jim and Donald.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
There will be a service for family and friends held at Pearson's Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Bruce had a heart for helping those in need. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Roseburg Rescue Mission.
