Our Lord took Duane Kevin Barrick’s hand and ushered him home to heaven on Monday, May 1, 2017. Duane was born on December 3, 1962, to Roger M. Barrick and Shirley A. (Bales) Barrick.
Duane was a loving husband, father, son and Big Papa. His love of our Lord was shared with all. He was very involved with Cub and Boy Scouts, he was a Life Scout and continued his involvement with his children. He really enjoyed playing football for RHS. He learned to fly a plane and flew his first solo flight. Duane proudly served in the Oregon Army National Guard. He also liked to dive, hunt, fish and camp. Duane went to U.C.C. and O.S.U., becoming a Civil Engineer. He started his career at CH2MHill. He worked 24 plus years for the City of Woodburn and then worked for O.B.E.C.
Duane is survived by parents, Roger and Shirley Barrick; wife, Gail (Van Riper) Barrick; children, Corey A. Barrick, Marissa M. Barrick, Brodie H. Barrick, Brett M.A. Barrick, Jason L. Hooker (Jessica), Joshua L. Bartholomew (Alysia Fraley) and Jacob Bartholomew; grandchildren, Brock, Britney, Hayleigh, Hannah, Jayden, Emily, Kamrin, Thomas and Bentlee; sister, Kenette Cockrell (Rick); nephew, Kevin Cockrell; and niece, Chelsea Cockrell.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Salvation Army, 700 Club or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
