Marilyn Jayne (Jacobson) Converse, age 86, passed quietly in her sleep December 25, 2017. She was born in Tacoma, WA, on October 7, 1931, to Ralph and Gladys (Lewis) Jacobson. She was third of three children.
After graduating from Vashon Island High School in 1949, she went to Puget Sound College for a short time. On January 19, 1952, she married Gerald (Jerry) Converse in Long Beach, CA. They lived in Pensacola, FL, Redding, CA, and then moved to Roseburg. She worked for Douglas Community Hospital and then as a receptionist for Dr. Harold Anderson for 20+ years. After retiring, Jerry and Marilyn traveled and spent 10 years as snowbirds in Yuma, AZ.
She is survived by her three children, Linda Dwight (Mark), Steve (Michelle), and Nancy Backen (Dave); her brother, Robert (Bob) Jacobson; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
